The RollerCon Scavenger Hunt dates back to the first RollerCon convention in 2005 and its still going strong. Here’s what you need to know to get started:

Get your RC tickets. Scav open to registered attendees only. Your team will need a NAME, a CAPTAIN who has a cell number that will work at RC (and is hopefully getting RC twitter blasts), and at least 4 more members to register. Skate names are fine. You can have as many people on your team as you want, but if you win, you get 5 prizes. So keep that in mind!

ABOUT THE SCAV:
At the first ever RollerCon, the 3-day scavenger hunt in 2005 boasted approximately 25 teams of 10 women. Each team sported different themes and costume attire. Almost every single attendee participated in the scavenger hunt making it one of the biggest events of the convention. Sponsors threw a party at the start and finish, and entrants were given disposable Pabst cameras to document their exploits. The judges sorted through the entries and awarded some pretty awesome gear donated by more vendors at a big party in the Tropicana on the last day. Thor’s Hammer, a Viking team of mostly Rat City skaters won the première hunt…

In 2008 and 2009, the Vagine Regime stepped in and upped the stakes: Cops, Vulcans, High fives, hand stands on escalators, newly weds, human pyramids, cheerleading, applications to certain nude “gymnastic-inspired” lines of work and on top of it all - lots and lots of skin. The queer ladies of derby have hijacked the Scavenger Hunt and won’t give it up, celebrating the 5-year anniversary of this hilarious event in 2010.

This year’s RollerCon will be the biggest, baddest and most highly attended skater convention to date. Think you’ve got the bearings to win a sin-city-wide Scavenger Hunt?
