So here’s the deal. A banquet - ANY banquet - in Las Vegas, is expensive. RollerCon 2005-2009 all had banquets - and it was really fun having (in 09) almost a 1000 derby skaters in one room at dinner. But - x $75 per person with a 1000 person minimum, the math is pretty easy. One of the primary reasons that RollerCon tickets were so expensive was because the banquet was so expensive, and compared to most Vegas casinos, $75 per person is actually CHEAP, believe it or not.

So if you wonder why RollerCon tickets got almost $100 cheaper in 2010, now you know: we scrapped the big, expensive banquet.

But it is pretty awesome having dinner with so many derby peeps. So if a manufacturer or league or someone wanted to organize something awesome - even if it was casual, or pay-by-the-plate, 500 pizzas at the pool, or someplace we could all meet - that would be cool. I don’t think we’ll miss paying for it - but we will miss the opening chance to all hang out.
